Continuing Education

Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital hosts and sponsors four all-day events throughout the calendar year. These programs are created and managed by the Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital clinical team and are made available to the staff and community. Each year attendees travel from other states to attend our seminars.

In addition to the seminars and symposiums, Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital offers a Cardiovascular Nursing Certification Review Course and Preceptor class to their team staff members.

Symposiums and Seminars

Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital's catheterization lab, electrophysiology lab and operating room develop yearly programs of continuing education. Catheterization lab team members design a program that is produced each August called CV Symposium. This symposium is attended annually by 500 to 700 clinicians. The electrophysiology lab designs and produces the annual Electrophysiology Seminar in February. This specialized education program is attended annually by more than 120 attendees. Our operating room team designs and produces the Vascular Seminar which is held in October and attended by over 120 clinicians. These programs are a product of our shared governance structure and provide continuing education both internally and for the community.

The Cardiovascular Symposium is designed for the cardiovascular health care professional. Our regionally recognized faculty is comprised of leaders in their field. Each will share their experiences with advanced technology and its impact on cardiovascular therapies and explore the latest trends in the diagnosis and treatment of the cardiovascular patient.

This event focuses on the specific needs of: registered nurses, nurse practitioners, radiologic technologists, sonographers, respiratory therapists, cardiovascular technologists, cardiovascular allied health professionals, physician assistants, and EMTs.

EP/Non-Invasive Seminar will provide the participant with an update on the most current information regarding the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease with an emphasis on advances in the field of electrophysiology, pacing, and non-invasive cardiology. This conference is specifically designed for registered nurses, radiologic technologists, sonographers, and registered cardiovascular invasive specialists.

Vascular Seminar will enhance health care professional knowledge and understanding of cardiovascular emergent care needs and management to deliver safe, quality, and effective patient care when case management involves vascular trauma, vascular imaging, pregnancy, complex wound management, presence of community acquired infections, etc. This program is specifically designed to meet the educational needs of nurse practitoners, pharmacists, radiologic technologists, vascular and cardiac sonographers, and cardiovascular health care professionals.
