Our Mission
To operate an integrated heart and vascular health care delivery system, founded as a Christian ministry of healing, that exists to serve people by offering a continuum of quality service committed to quality care and patient safety, medical education, research and community service.
Our Vision
To redefine the relationship between physicians and the hospital with an integrated heart and vascular delivery system focused on high-quality, cost-effective care.
Our Care Model
Our care model serves as the foundation for our daily operations. The founding principles of our care model define how we approach health care as well as the qualities we look for in our team members. These principles are:
- Clinical excellence (Quality)
- Patient and family satisfaction (Service)
- Health care team satisfaction (People)
- Fiscal responsibility (Finance)
To implement this care model, we use industry standards. By caring for you in this way, we enhance your safety and the quality of your care. We believe that if we work to exceed people's expectations, the results will be satisfaction, care excellence, and a trusting relationship. And to make sure that we stay true to these founding principles, we measure our performance and review our model of care at our hospital team meetings.
Patients Front and Center
We call our approach to patients and their families the "Circle of Care." It encompasses our mission, vision, and priorities, and uses a patient-centered approach. We support and care for each patient as an individual. We promote a healing environment. And the members of the health care team work together with your benefit as our first priority.
We are always making Baylor a better place to work. We recruit and retain quality medical professionals and support staff. As we continue to provide a better quality of care, we advance our outcome measures. We don't just want to meet standards for high-quality care, we want to set the standards.
Patient-centered care not only means that we focus on your health, but on your comfort too. We create a compassionate, friendly environment. We communicate openly and honestly with you so you fully understand your condition, its causes, and its appropriate treatment. We also offer programs designed to give you and your family the knowledge and skills necessary to keep you well and prevent further problems. The Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Institute and the Community Resource Center house educational resources that are available to all who are interested in learning more about heart and vascular health.
Focus and Results
To accomplish our mission and realize our vision, we focus entirely on heart and vascular care. We were the first North Texas hospital dedicated entirely to the care and treatment of heart and vascular patients. We offer advanced facilities, including cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratories, surgical suites, an imaging department with 64-slice CT scanner, cardiac rehabilitation areas, physician offices, and a research facility. Our patient accommodations combine clinical efficiency with patient comfort.
Our commitment to medical excellence for our patients is paying off: Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital received a Magnet Award for "Excellence in Nursing Services." Awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the Magnet Recognition Program recognizes healthcare organizations that demonstrate excellence in nursing practice and adherence to national standards for the organization and delivery of nursing services. We join a small group of fewer than 5 percent of U.S. hospitals in achieving this prestigious award. Each of the 255 hospitals, out of more than 6,000 nationwide, awarded Magnet distinction underwent a rigorous, voluntary evaluation process and extensive onsite inspection. We are proud that we received this award because it means that we are doing the right things for our patients.
