The team at Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital would like to extend a warm welcome to you and your family. Our number one priority is to make your experience with us as smooth and as comfortable as possible.
One of the first things you can do to make the admissions process easier is to refer to the Pink Packet that you received at your doctor's office. If you did not receive a pink packet, you can go to our online pre-admission form. There may also be specific instruction provided to you by the doctor's office. General instructions include bringing all of your medications in the original bottles to the hospital, removing jewelry and leaving it at home, and arranging for a ride home. There may be some additional instructions for bathing with a special soap prior to arrival.
You were given an admission/arrival time by the scheduler. This time is prior to your scheduled procedure to allow us to prepare you for the procedure. Please arrive promptly for your scheduled admission time. We generally allow up to 2 hours to prepare you for your procedure. Once you arrive at the Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital, you will be greeted by our Access Services staff in the admitting area on the ground floor. We will ask that you check in and you will be called for the registration process. Please have your license or other identification and your insurance card available. The team will ask you some specific questions related to registration and give you an identification bracelet. You will be asked to confirm your name and date of birth throughout your stay as part of our patient ID safety process in patient care.
We want you and your family to feel as empowered and as knowledgeable as possible. This section of the website will help you become more familiar with our hospital before you step through the doors. You can review information about what will happen on the day of your procedure, where you can safely store personal belongings, what you can expect during your stay, and guidelines for your family and visitors. Understanding your condition or treatment is equally important in making your visit easier and helping you recover more quickly. You can access our online library of cardiovascular conditions and treatments or visit the AT&T Community Resource Center, located on the Ground Floor of the hospital.
