  • Aortic valve insufficiency
  • Mitral valve prolapse
  • Mitral valve regurgitation
  • Mitral valve stenosis

Specialized Interventions

Physicians in the Center for Valve Disorders are highly skilled and experienced in both open and percutaneous procedures. Specialized interventions include:

  • Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) through research studies and commercial availability.

  • Evaluation for mitral valve repair over replacement. Repair in most cases is the better option for long-term survival with fewer complications
  • Minimally invasive valve repair and replacement using sternal sparing, port-access approaches

Advanced Imaging Services

The Center for Valve Disorders offers comprehensive, on-site cardiovascular imaging and radiology services. In a single visit, patients can undergo thorough, quality testing, allowing physicians to develop a personalized diagnostic and treatment plan.

Research

Through the Center for Valve Disorders, patients have access to clinical trials studying new devices and treatment methods for valvular disease. Patients are individually evaluated to determine if they are candidates for a clinical trial.
