To operate an integrated heart and vascular health care delivery system, founded as a Christian ministry of healing, that exists to serve people by offering a continuum of quality service committed to quality care and patient safety, medical education, research and community service.
To be the national leader in providing safe, compassionate, patient-centered, quality cardiovascular care.
Circle of Care
We call our approach to patients and their families the "Circle of Care." It encompasses our mission, vision, and priorities, and uses a patient-centered approach. We support and care for each patient as an individual. We promote a healing environment. And, the members of the health care team work closely together for your best outcome.
We are always making Baylor a better place to work. We recruit and retain quality medical professionals and support staff. As we continue to provide a better quality of care, we advance our outcome measures. We don't just want to meet standards for high-quality care, we want to set the standards.
The Magnet Recognition Program was developed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to recognize health care organizations that provide nursing excellence. The program also provides a vehicle for disseminating successful nursing practices and strategies.
Patient-centered care not only means that we focus on your health, but on your comfort too. We create a compassionate, friendly environment. We communicate openly and honestly with you so you fully understand your condition, its causes, and its appropriate treatment. We also offer programs designed to give you and your family the knowledge and skills necessary to keep you well and prevent further problems.
Showing our support and gratitude to the community is an important part of our hospital's mission and identity as an institution built on Christian ideals. As one of the largest employers in the area, we feel our responsibility as leaders is to share our passion for helping others, not only within our doors but also in the community. Our staff members have the drive and desire to go above and beyond, by doing extra for others, and taking part in unique activities that make a difference. We take great pride in helping the people in the community as well as caring for the patients at our hospital.
As a part of Baylor Scott & White Health, the commitment to assess community health needs is a part of our legacy of commitment to improving the health of the communities served. As outlined by federal requirements for Baylor Scott & White Health and those noted in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care act, Baylor Scott & White undertook an examination of public health indicators and conducted a benchmark analysis comparing communities served by Baylor Scott & White including Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital, to the overall state of Texas in order to determine the needs of the communities served by the organization. Using preventive medicine, we work with our local community to fight heart and vascular diseases. From screenings to free educational classes, we offer support before, during, and after procedures. For example:
Our hospital and team members are active with many charitable organizations and events throughout the community. Some of these include:
We encourage everyone to get involved with these worthwhile causes. Please ask one of our staff members how to take the first step.
To accomplish our mission and realize our vision, we focus entirely on heart and vascular care. We were the first North Texas hospital dedicated entirely to the care and treatment of heart and vascular patients. We offer advanced facilities, including cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratories, surgical suites, an imaging department with 64-slice CT scanner, cardiac rehabilitation areas, physician offices, and a research facility. Our patient accommodations combine clinical efficiency with patient comfort.
Our commitment to medical excellence for our patients is paying off: Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital received a Magnet Award for "Excellence in Nursing Services." Awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the Magnet Recognition Program recognizes healthcare organizations that demonstrate excellence in nursing practice and adherence to national standards for the organization and delivery of nursing services. We join a small group of fewer than 5 percent of U.S. hospitals in achieving this prestigious award. Each of the 255 hospitals, out of more than 6,000 nationwide, awarded Magnet distinction underwent a rigorous, voluntary evaluation process and extensive onsite inspection. We are proud that we received this award because it means that we are doing the right things for our patients.
