Founded as a Christian ministry of healing, Baylor Scott & White Health promotes the
well-being of all individuals,
families and communities.
To be the trusted leader, educator and innovator in value-based care delivery, customer experience and affordability.
The Magnet Recognition Program was developed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to recognize health care organizations that provide nursing excellence. The program also provides a vehicle for disseminating successful nursing practices and strategies.
Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – Dallas has been recognized for nursing excellence and outstanding patient care with ANCC Magnet Recognition®, an international distinction for excellence in nursing services from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. This award acknowledges the patient-centered focus and quality care delivered by our nurses, physicians on our medical staff and other staff members – recognition given to only 7 percent of the hospitals in the United States. Nurses throughout Magnet® recognized organizations are involved in Shared Governance through several formalized councils and committees.
Showing our support and gratitude to the community is an important part of our hospital's mission and identity as an institution built on Christian ideals. As one of the largest employers in the area, we feel our responsibility as leaders is to share our passion for helping others, not only within our doors but also in the community. Our staff members have the drive and desire to go above and beyond, by doing extra for others, and taking part in unique activities that make a difference. We take great pride in helping the people in the community as well as caring for the patients at our hospital.
As a part of Baylor Scott & White Health, the commitment to assess community health needs is a part of our legacy of commitment to improving the health of the communities served. As outlined by federal requirements for Baylor Scott & White Health and those noted in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care act, Baylor Scott & White undertook an examination of public health indicators and conducted a benchmark analysis comparing communities served by Baylor Scott & White Health to the overall state of Texas in order to determine the needs of the communities served by the organization. Using preventive medicine, we work with our local community to fight heart and vascular diseases. From screenings to free educational classes, we offer support before, during, and after procedures. For example:
Our hospital and team members are active with many charitable organizations and events throughout the community. Some of these include:
We encourage everyone to get involved with these worthwhile causes. Please ask one of our staff members how to take the first step.
To accomplish our mission and realize our vision, we focus entirely on heart and vascular care. We were the first North Texas hospital dedicated entirely to the care and treatment of heart and vascular patients. We offer advanced facilities, including cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratories, surgical suites, an imaging department with 64-slice CT scanner and 1.5 MRI as well as cardiac rehabilitation areas, physician offices, and a research facility. Our patient accommodations combine clinical efficiency with patient comfort. To learn more about the hospital, including the services offered, visit the most recent outcomes book.
